She was graduated in Biology from the University of Girona (2006). She obtained her PhD from the University of Girona in the program of Experimental Sciences and Sustainability (2016). For three years she was a postdoctoral researcher at the at the National Center of Microbiology from the Health Institute Carlos III. She is currently member of the Microbiology Area at the University of Girona as Lecturer. Her research is based mainly on the study of the ecophysiology of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, but she has also been involved in projects related to the study of intestinal microbiota in patients with intestinal diseases such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease or colorectal cancer in order to identify novel biomarkers to assist in diagnosis and prognosis. Currently, she is engaged in projects to develop vaccines to prevent infections caused by microorganisms multiresistant to antibiotics. She has published 24 articles in international journals and has participated in more than 60 congresses, both national and international, and also in outreach scientific activities.
