I have a degree in Geology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1995). I attended the Third Cycle and was a research fellow in the Geology Department of the same university (1995-1999). Since the academic year 2000/2001 I have been working as an associate lecturer in the Department of Environmental Sciences of the University of Girona. I have taught numerous geological and scientific subjects in general, in the old degrees and in the current degrees of the Faculty of Sciences. I am also a researcher at the Center for Cartography and Environmental Geology at the University of Girona.
As a geologist, between 2002 and the present I have worked in the realization and technical audit of geotechnical studies for construction, in projects and studies of geological mapping, geological risks, characterization and monitoring of water resources and valorization of the geological and natural heritage. From 2020 I co-direct the Water, Nature and Welfare Chair (University of Girona and University of Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya), focused on water resources and the natural heritage of the Guilleries massif (Catalonia, Spain). In addition, since the 2019/20 academic year I have been working as a geology tutor at the Associated Center in Girona of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED).
My current research and transfer interests as a researcher focus on the characterization and management of underground water resources, combining methodological aspects of hydrogeology, geological prospecting, applied geophysics and the environment. I also work on the enhancement of the natural heritage linked to geology and groundwater, on the interactions between these and aquatic ecosystems, and with the management of the cultural heritage that is related to them. As head of the Water, Nature and Welfare Chair, I also carry out actions to promote teaching and research by high school, undergraduate and master's students, as well as independent researchers, on water, territory and biodiversity issues. At the same time, I collaborate as a consultative expert on water, geology and environmental issues in initiatives and projects started by municipal and supra-municipal bodies, foundations and other entities around Les Guilleries.
