He was born in Girona in 1971. He trained as an Agricultural Engineer at the University of Lleida (UdL-ETSEA) where he also completed his doctoral thesis (2006) under the direction of Professors Javier Barragán and Francisco Ramírez de Cartagena.
Since 2015, he has been Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Agriculture and Agri-Food Technology of the University of Girona (UdG) where he teaches students of the Degree in Agricultural Engineering of Escola Politècnica Superior of the UdG and the Master's in Water Resources Science and Technology at the Science Faculty of the UdG.
He participates in teaching innovation projects and is a member of the Teaching Innovation Network of the UdG's Institute of Education Sciences.
He is a member of the Irrigation Engineering and Management Research Group where he has worked on: irrigation water reuse, improvement of filtration systems and management of water in Agroecosystems linked to rice cultivation. Much of this research is part of national and international projects in which he has participated and/or coordinated. He currently coordinates PROMEDRICE international project of the PRIMA-Horizon 2020 program, Effective farming practices to protect water resources in Mediterranean rice-based ecosystems, in which 12 entities from 5 Mediterranean countries participate.
He has published more than 60 articles in research journals indexed in the JCR and collaborates as a regular reviewer in prestigious journals.

Since May 8, 2020, he has obtained the advanced research accreditation by the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia (AQU Catalunya).
