Research lines:

- Tumor markers: Altered glycosylation of serum proteins as potential tumor markers.  Focused on pancreatic adenocarcinoma and prostate cancer, in particular human pancreatic ribonuclease and acute-phase proteins in pancreatic cancer and prostate specific antigen (PSA) in prostate cancer. Extended to other glycoproteins (proteomics and glycomics)

 - Molecular mechanisms for the glycosylation changes in cancer: Studies on glycosyltransferase expression, their involvement in tumor progression steps and the factors that regulate their expression. Inhibition of sialyltransferases to reduce cancer hypersialylation.
