Soc professora agregada de Didàctica de les Ciències a la Universitat de Girona (UdG) i fa més de 20 anys que treballo en l’àmbit de l’educació ambiental i per a la sostenibilitat. La meva trajectòria s’ha centrat principalment en l’educació superior, on he explorat enfocaments institucionals integrals (whole-institution approaches), processos de canvi institucional i aprenentatge transformador com a palanques clau per incorporar la sostenibilitat a les universitats. La meva tesi doctoral es va centrar en el desenvolupament d’indicadors per avaluar l’aprenentatge social per a la sostenibilitat en universitats del Regne Unit, utilitzant metodologies creatives i col·laboratives com el collective memory-work i el storytelling per impulsar processos de transformació institucional. En els darrers anys he ampliat el meu enfocament cap a l’educació infantil i la formació del professorat, àmbits amb un gran potencial per fomentar formes de pensar, sentir i actuar més sostenibles des de les primeres etapes de vida.
A la UdG imparteixo docència al grau d’Educació Infantil, on coordino assignatures relacionades amb les ciències i la sostenibilitat (STEM), superviso pràcticums i tutoritzo treballs finals de grau. També lidero iniciatives dins del grup de recerca GRECA, un dels grups capdavanters a l’Estat espanyol en educació ambiental i per a la sostenibilitat.
He participat en nombrosos projectes de recerca nacionals i internacionals. Actualment formo part del projecte FEDORAS Teacher Academy (Teacher Academy for a Future-oriented STEAM Education for a Sustainable World), que busca regenerar els ecosistemes educatius a través de la innovació en l’ensenyament STEAM, abordant temàtiques com el canvi climàtic, la intel·ligència artificial, la sostenibilitat i les tecnologies emergents. També he contribuït al projecte SDG-iLevel, que promou la visibilitat dels esforços acadèmics en sostenibilitat, i al projecte EDUSTA, centrat en l'ús de microcredencials i insígnies digitals per acreditar les competències del professorat en educació per al desenvolupament sostenible. Actualment co-lidero el projecte Learn-OUT Evaluation, que investiga enfocaments participatius i creatius per avaluar l’aprenentatge en contextos educatius fora de l’aula.
He ocupat càrrecs de lideratge en xarxes internacionals de sostenibilitat. Entre 2011 i 2014 vaig coordinar el Centre Regional d’Expertise de la Universitat de les Nacions Unides (UNU RCE Severn), una plataforma multiactor per impulsar transicions sostenibles a escala local. Del 2019 al 2022 vaig ser directora de la COPERNICUS Alliance, la xarxa europea d’universitats compromeses amb la sostenibilitat, i vaig liderar el projecte europeu UE4SD (University Educators for Sustainable Development), una xarxa Erasmus+ amb 55 universitats de 33 països dedicada al desenvolupament professional del professorat universitari en educació per al desenvolupament sostenible (ESD).
A banda de la recerca, he treballat com a consultora i formadora per a diverses organitzacions internacionals com UNESCO (París), el Centre Humid Tropics de la UNESCO (Malàisia), la Comissió Alemanya per a la UNESCO, la iniciativa Environment and School Initiatives (ENSI) i la Comissió Europea, amb qui he col·laborat com a coautora d’un informe sobre la formació del professorat en sostenibilitat. També he col·laborat amb diverses universitats europees en iniciatives vinculades a la sostenibilitat i l’educació, i he desenvolupat projectes d’avaluació i formació amb administracions públiques del territori, com la Diputació de Girona i diversos consells comarcals.
Tinc una àmplia experiència en la supervisió de tesis doctorals i el mentoratge acadèmic. Vaig ser la coordinadora fundadora del programa de doctorat de la Universitat de Gibraltar (2015–2016), on vaig dissenyar i implementar el programa i vaig donar suport als primers grups de doctorands. Continuo aquesta tasca a la Universitat de Girona, on superviso tesis doctorals i faig de mentora de joves investigadors i investigadores.
La meva trajectòria ha estat reconeguda amb el Premi de Plata a la Innovació Educativa (KiWiE Awards, Corea del Sud) i la Menció Enric Renau dels Premis Educaweb per un projecte col·laboratiu sobre qualitat, sostenibilitat i universitats a Andorra.
Soc llicenciada en Ciències Ambientals per la Universitat de Girona, tinc un Diploma d’Estudis Avançats (DEA) en Educació Ambiental i un doctorat internacional en Sostenibilitat per la University of Gloucestershire (Regne Unit).

I am an Associate Professor in Science Education at the University of Girona (Spain), with over 20 years of experience in environmental and sustainability education. My work has mainly focused on higher education, exploring whole-institution approaches, institutional change, and transformative learning as key levers for embedding sustainability in universities. My PhD research focused on developing indicators to assess social learning for sustainability in universities in the UK, using collective memory-work and storytelling as creative and collaborative methodologies to support institutional transformation. In recent years, I have expanded my focus to early childhood and teacher education, where I see great potential to foster sustainable thinking, feeling, and action from the earliest stages of life.
At the University of Girona, I teach in the Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, where I lead STEM-related courses, supervise teaching practicums, and mentor final research projects. I also lead initiatives within GRECA, one of Spain’s pioneering research groups in environmental and sustainability education.
I have participated in a wide range of national and international research projects. Currently, I take part in the FEDORAS Teacher Academy (Teacher Academy for a Future-oriented STEAM Education for a Sustainable World), which seeks to regenerate educational ecosystems through STEAM-based innovation in topics such as climate change, AI, sustainability, and emerging technologies. I have also contributed to the SDG-iLevel initiative, which aimed to make academic contributions to sustainability more visible, and to the EDUSTA project, focused on using micro-credentials and open badges to certify educators’ competences in education for sustainable development. I currently lead the research project LearnOuT Evaluation, which investigates participatory and creative approaches to assessing learning in out-of-classroom contexts.
I have held key leadership roles in international sustainability networks. From 2011 to 2014, I coordinated the United Nations University Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (UNU RCE Severn), a multi-stakeholder platform supporting local sustainability transitions. From 2019 to 2022, I served as Director of the COPERNICUS Alliance, the European network of universities for sustainability, where I built strong collaborations across institutions and countries. I alsoco- led the Erasmus+ network project UE4SD (University Educators for Sustainable Development), involving 55 universities in 33 countries, focused on the professional development of academic staff for ESD.
Alongside research, I have worked as a consultant and trainer with international organisations such as UNESCO (Paris), the UNESCO Humid Tropics Centre (Malaysia), the German Commission for UNESCO, the Environment and School Initiatives (ENSI), and the European Commission, for whom I co-authored a report on teacher education for sustainable development. I have also collaborated with several European universities on sustainability and education initiatives, and developed evaluation and training projects with provincial and regional governments in Catalonia, including the Diputació de Girona and various county councils.
I have a strong track record in PhD supervision and academic mentoring. I was the founding Academic Lead of the PhD programme at the University of Gibraltar (2015–2016), where I designed and coordinated the programme and supported its first cohorts of doctoral students. I continue this work at the University of Girona, where I supervise PhD candidates and mentor early-career researchers.
My work has been recognised with the Silver Award for Innovation in Education (KiWiE Awards, South Korea) and the Educació Educaweb Mention – Enric Renau Prize for a collaborative project on quality, sustainability, and universities in Andorra.
I hold a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of Girona, an Advanced Studies Diploma (MRes) in Environmental Education, and a PhD in Sustainability from the University of Gloucestershire (UK).
