Brief CV

Mònica González-Carrasco is PhD in Psychology by the University of Girona (Spain) and postgraduate in Management and Human Resources Administration by the Open University of Catalonia. She is full professor of Social Psychology at the Departament of Psychology in the University of Girona . She has given teaching at the degrees of Psychology, Criminology, Social Education and Publicity and Public Relations, and also at different master’s, post-degree and doctoral programs.

She is also postgraduate in University Teaching and has presented several communications to national congress about teaching. She has also collaborated with the Science Education Institute at the University of Girona in the training of professors.

She is a researcher of the Quality of Life Research Institute (IRQV), member of the Research Team on Childhood, Adolescence, Children’s Rights and their Quality of Life (ERÍDIQV) since 1999 and co-coordinator of this same research team since 2016.. She has participated in different research programs, both competitive and of transference of knowledge, about children at risk, adolescence and new technologies of information and communication, subjective well-being, children’s rights and quality of life of the youth, elderly people and women. She has also collaborated in other projects related to school absenteeism and social participation of children and youth. She has authored 3 books and co-authored 8 more, and has contributed to 15 book chapters on these topics. She has published more than 50 papers in prestigious national and international journals and has presented about 150 communications to national and international congress.

She has supervised several doctoral thesis, master’s thesis and research works and has also evaluated many papers for impact international journals on well-being, children’s rights and quality of life.

She obtained the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize in Psychology in 2006 by the University of Girona and the Honourable Mention to the Best Dissertation Award 2007 by the International Society of Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS).
