Over recent years, research funding organisations have pushed for policies that promote access to results from the research they support. These policies mostly focus in openly disseminating publications and data as well as facilitating its reuse. In this context, the term "Open Science" was born, meaning openness, collaboration and transparency throughout the entire research cycle.
In this session, Dr. Ignasi Labastida will talk about the principles and practises of Open Science and how they can be implemented with the requirements of funding agencies. Dr. Labastida will discuss about Open Access, the S Plan, FAIR Data, DORA and citizen science.
Dr. Ignasi Labastida leads the Knowledge Dissemination Office and is the chief of the Research and Innovation Unit from CRAI at University of Barcelona. In 2003 he promoted and contributed to the Creative Commons project in Spain. He supervises Open Access, Open Science and Open Education projects at University of Barcelona. Since March 2019, he is chair of the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) Europe board.
