Resources for publishing

The work intended for publication can be presented by its author and will require an institutional guarantee that justifies and assumes the responsibility for its content. Such guarantees are not necessary for institutional publications, such as reports on activities, conference, symposiums, collective public events, scientific gatherings and government publications.

Applications on the SolRaig platform must be accompanied with the corresponding form, completed and signed, as well as the work’s originals.

Once the work’s publication has been approved, Publications will prepare its budget. The costs will be borne by the body that made the order or by the entities contributing financially to the realisation of the work. The budget has to be accepted for the corresponding layout, design and management of the works, which you will find explained in the Fast guide.

The originals will need to be adapted to the submission criteria provided by Publicacions at the initial meeting with the author and which will soon be published in this very section. To write up the original, you can follow these sample layouts in Word or InDesign format.

Any work can be published in hardcopy or open-access electronic format.  In the case of publishing books in hardcopy format, bear in mind that four books from the envisaged print run will be delivered to the entity that manages the legal deposit, and Publicacions i Edicions will keep a minimal number of copies to deal with requests and orders that may be made owing due to the attribution of the ISBN commercial code.

In the case of an open-access electronic format book, the work will be published in the UdG’s  digital documents Repository (DUGi).

The UdG’s open-access publications are currently adapted to a Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence, and appropriate credit is therefore provided in the work.

This licence implies there is no permission for commercial use of the work and possible derivative works, whose distribution must be made with a licence equal to the one governing the original work. The original work’s authorship must always be acknowledged.

To find out more, consult the UdG Library's Creative Commons licences page.

This section explains the minimum criteria which, from the formal, publishing and contents perspective, are necessary for a scientific magazine to be indexed in a specialised data base suchas Calidad revistas científicas españolas (Sello de Calidad FECYT), Web of Science (WOS), ScopusCarhus Plus+: https://biblioteca-recerca.udg.edu/acreditacio-i-avaluacio/criteris-per-a-la-seleccio-de-publicacions/

To disseminate the results of university research, the UdG offers publications of online theses to the https://biblioteca-recerca.udg.edu/comunicacio-cientifica/tdx-tesis-doctorals-en-xarxa/ portal

Edicions UdG also provides for publications of conferences and congresses held at the UdG. The procedure for requesting publications is the same as the one for monographs (see the corresponding section).

Correctly citing the bibliography you consult for producing a work, thesis, etc. is an indicator of the quality of the work presented. You must use one of the styles listed below to cite your sources. The UdG’s Library offers you access to a management programme which will help you to create your own database of bibliographic references. To find out , https://biblioteca.udg.edu/ca/aprenentatge/com-citar-documents

The services responsible for the management of some of these identifiers at the UdG are: Publications Service  and the Library

You can consult the procedures for obtaining them from https://biblioteca-recerca.udg.edu/propietat-intellectual/identificadors-bibliografics/

The UdG’s Modern Language Service offers the university community a whole series of language resources that can be useful for careful editing of works: https://www.udg.edu/ca/llengues/recursos-linguistics. This does reduce the need for any work to confirm a language review of its contents by the Modern Language Service for its publication.
