Evaluation systems

The ordinary evaluation system is Continuous Evaluation for all students. Global Evaluation (no class attendance required) is limited to students from previous courses and, in some very special cases, students who are explicitly authorized by the Academic Board of Directors to undergo global evaluation in this subject.

For Continuous Evaluation, a minimum of 80% class attendance is required, regardless of any justification for non-attendance. Only those absences which are legally justified and confirmed by the Academic Board of Directors will not be counted as non-attendance. Students who do not meet the attendance requirement will lose the benefits and partial grades of Continuous Evaluation and must sit a global evaluation, without any further re-sit.
In the event that a non-attendance reported by the Academic Board of Directors affects an assessment activity, an alternative will be considered to the extent that the activity requires it.

In the case of students with special needs and whose situation has been communicated by the Academic Direction, an appropriate adaptation of the evaluation will be considered in order to guarantee equal opportunities.

The final marks of Continuous Evaluation will be communicated before the end of the teaching period, and in any case before the Global Evaluation period begins.

Both in Continuous Evaluation and in Global Evaluation there is an option of re-evaluation (re-sit) if the passing grade is not reached; the conditions are detailed below. Any fraudulent practice in any of the evaluable exercises, presentations, tests, exams, etc. will result in a zero fail mark in the subject and the student will not be entitled to any further re-evaluation (Re-sit exam) for this course.

The Continuous Evaluation consists of:

A. The First Term Exam (to be set in December - February) is 30% of the Final Continuous Evaluation mark. It covers the study period September to December / January (75% written and 25% oral).
It is obligatory to sit both parts of the exam together (Oral + written).

B. The Second Term Exam (to be set in March - April) is 30% of the Final Continuous Evaluation mark. It covers the study period February to April (75% written and 25% oral).
It is obligatory to sit both parts of the exam together (Oral + written).

C. Evaluated exercises, tasks and student participation from September to April: 20%. (min. 5 mixed activities).

D. The Presentation mark: 20%.
*This part of the evaluation must be repeated if the minimum mark (5/10) is not achieved regardless of the average mark from sections A+B+C+D.

To pass the Continuous Evaluation an average pass mark of 5 (A+B+C+D) is required (*See section D above). The marks obtained, whether pass or fail, are used to calculate the average mark. There is no repetition evaluation of sections A or B.

The students who fail the Continuous Evaluation will be re-evaluated in a Global Re-sit Evaluation, which covers the study period September to April (oral and written test, and presentation).
There is no further re-sit for students who fail this evaluation.

If the student passes the Presentation, but fails A+B+C, the Presentation mark will be saved for the Global Re-sit Evaluation (for that year only). The student will sit the Re-Sit Exam.

On the other hand, if the student fails the Re-sit of the Presentation, the final mark of the Course will be the average of A+B+C+D regardless of the individual marks. There is no further re-sit.

The Continuous Evaluation students who do not have 80% attendance will be evaluated in the Global Re-sit Evaluation, which covers the study period September to April (oral and written test, and presentation).
There is no further re-sit for students who fail this evaluation.

Ex-students or repeat students (previous years) and/or special cases (students authorized by the Academic Board of Directors) must undergo a Global Evaluation (Recuperación) in May. This includes all the work covered throughout the year from September to March (oral and written test, and presentation). The written test, the oral test and the Presentation are inseparable and the three parts must be taken for the exam to be evaluated.

If these students fail the Global Evaluation, they will be re-evaluated in the Global Re-sit (Reevaluación) which will be subject to the same conditions as the Global Evaluation.

Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
A student who does not sit any of the evaluation activities and exams or parts of these exams will be considered “Not Presented”.

Avaluació única:
The ordinary evaluation system is Continuous Evaluation for all students. Global Evaluation (no class attendance required) is limited to students from previous courses and, in some very special cases, students who are explicitly authorized by the Academic Board of Directors to undergo global evaluation in this subject.

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
Per considerar superada l’assignatura, caldrà obtenir una qualificació mínima de 5.0

Modificació del disseny

Modificació de les activitats:
The design of the subject has been made for teaching in UdG scenario 1-Presential.
In the event that scenarios with limited or non-attendance are declared, the degree of virtual teaching will be increased accordingly, through the platform chosen by the school for this purpose. In this case, priority will be given to classroom attendance as far as is reasonably possible and permitted, and the scheduled class sessions will be respected, which will be the contact times for students/teachers to carry out the same activities.

Modificació de l'avaluació:
In the event that the evaluation activities cannot be carried out presentially (in-person), these same activities will be carried out on the same day and at the same time as planned, using non-presential channels. Two weeks before the date, the students concerned will be informed of the channel that will be used to carry out the activity.

Tutoria i comunicació:
Tutoring and communication with students will take place in all scenarios as defined in the Tutoring and Communication section.
