It's useful to know

In the Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering you will acquire the necessary skills to design, develop and calculate machines, engines, vehicles, structures and industrial facilities.

At the same time, you will learn the necessary bases of technological scientific knowledge to conduct research and development (R+D+I) in the industrial field, as well as to interpret written reports for other specialist engineers. This multidisciplinary ability will allow you to lead cross-disciplinary working parties and work as a manager in technology companies.

As well as cross-disciplinary training in fundamental matters of engineering, the bachelor’s degree aims to prepare professionals to face the challenges of today's society with particular focus on optimising designs and processes, efficiency in the use of material and energy resources, and respect for the environment and improved sustainability.

  • Upper secondary school education. Access: university entrance examinations (PAU), general phase. Admission: weighting of subjects examined in university entrance exam (PAU) linked to the branch of knowledge of Engineering and Architecture.

  • Over 25s. Preferential option in successful entrance exam: Engineering and Architecture.
  • Over 40s. Assessment of professional experience relating to the bachelor's degree that the applicant wishes to be admitted to and sufficient interview outcome.

The Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering will qualify you to work as an industrial technical engineer. It provides the appropriate training for planning, managing and supervising industrial engineering projects.

In your final year, you will prepare your bachelor's thesis, where you will demonstrate the knowledge you have acquired throughout your training.

The bachelor's thesis is an engineering project on the subject area of your choice, carried out under the supervision of a lecturer acting as your tutor. If you wish, you can complete this in a company or research group. The board of companies that support the Polytechnic School and the professional associations of engineers hold an annual award for the best projects from each bachelor's degree programme.
