It's useful to know
Studying the double degree of Political and Administrative Science / Law gives you access to extensive and interdisciplinary training. Apart from conferring academic distinction, which will open the door to a wide range of professional areas, the double degree is not simply a combination of two curricula; it is encompassed within an overall framework in which Political Science and Law work together, each enriching the other in a shared area of knowledge and intellectual competence.
In the field of Political and Administrative Science, the public world is analysed from a broad perspective through subjects which, apart from training in political science, incorporate perspectives on public administration, sociology, the economy and social research methods. The study of the legal aspects, on the one hand, will provide extensive knowledge on the regulatory tools that make up the statutory reality (Public Law), both internally and internationally. On the other hand, they incorporate all the areas of Private Law, in other words, the regulations that regulate relationships between individuals.
It is essential that society has professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and be able to impact the public sphere and legal regulations in order to allow fully democratic coexistence.
Skills acquired
With this double degree you will acquire knowledge, skills and essential competences in the professional world, that will allow you to analyse legal situations and to design strategies to solve them, to understand and critically evaluate the legal information of the different sectors of the jurisdiction, to reason and to argue legally, and to develop and to argue a legal discourse in public. You will also be able, thanks to training in political and administrative science, to plan, implant, evaluate and analyse public policies; understand administrative planning and management; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; design and follow up diagnoses, needs studies, strategic plans and performance programmes for the implementation of public policies; understand the legal framework of activity that public administrations carry out, etc.
