Tourism, the number one economic sector in Barcelona, together with the knowledge of Marketing offered on this double degree, enables students to explore new horizons in a field which is both cross-disciplinary and exciting. The Dual bachelor's degree Tourism / Marketing includes in its curriculum contents and skills from the two disciplines: languages, management, economics, commercial research, communication, new information technologies, law, internationalisation, computer science, among others.

It also introduces innovative aspects in the academic field, related to the programming, execution and evaluation of the teaching, and promotes among students mobility, the acquisition of attitudes such as enterprising initiative, leadership and critical thinking. In this context, Mediterrani has an Internal Quality Plan based on standard UNE-EN ISO 9001:2008, the aim of which is to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement which enables us to continue being a university centre of academic excellence in Barcelona.

Access

Access requirements

  • Upper secondary school education. Access: university entrance examinations (PAU), general phase. Admission: weighting of subjects examined in the university entrance examinations (PAU) linked to the branch of knowledge of Social and Legal Sciences.
  • Higher level vocational training cycles (CFGS). Access: all CFGS. Admission: weighting of subjects examined in the university entrance examinations (PAU) linked to the branch of knowledge of Social and Legal Sciences.
  • Over 25s. Preferential option in successful entrance exam: arts and humanities.
  • Over 40s. Assessment of professional experience relating to the bachelor's degree that the applicant wishes to be admitted to and sufficient interview outcome.
  • Over 45s. Entrance test passed and with a sufficient interview outcome.
  • Other special types of access recognized under current regulations.

Careers

Students will be able to work in marketing and sales departments. They will have the skills to conduct audits and carry out marketing consultations. They will also be able to work in research and distribution in marketing departments. The great advantage of studying the double qualification in tourism and marketing is that you will be able to work in any tourism sector, such as ski resorts, natural parks, hotels, cruise ships, travel agencies, tourism consultancy firms, etc. Thanks to the professional skills you'll acquire on the double degree in tourism and marketing, you will leave ready to take on a position of responsibility in public and private sector institutions linked to the tourism and marketing sectors.

Placements

Students have to gain a series of credits, as part of their studies, which correspond to internships in companies or institutions relating to the bachelor’s degree they are studying. The teaching load is determined in accordance with the curriculum.

Bachelor's thesis

To obtain the degree, students have to complete a bachelor's thesis (TFG) which serves to assess the general skills they have acquired over the course of the degree programme and offers a summary of the skills and knowledge they have acquired. The teaching load of the thesis depends on the curriculum of the degree.

Mobility

Students can complete part of their degree programme abroad through the Erasmus programme, which enables them to carry on their studies whilst undertaking an international exchange with academic value in a European university.

They also have access to grants for placements at universities in Spain and on other continents, thanks to bilateral agreements, the SICUE programme and the expansion of the Erasmus+ Programme.

Enrolment

First year enrolment

The academic secretary’s office at the centre will provide you with the necessary information for enrolling.

Subjects
Check the subjects for which you can enrol in the section on Subjects > Available subjects 2021-2022 on the website of your bachelor's degree studies.
Fees
Consult the enrolment fees and deductions available to you.
Payment
You can pay the enrolment fee in cash or in instalments in two or three instalments or in monthly instalments. See the terms and conditions in the Enrolment Regulations.
Grants
If you wish to apply for a general MEFP grant, in order to complete an enrolment conditional on a grant you will have to apply for financial proof. Find out all about this from the Bachelor's degree scholarships and grants website.
Third language
To obtain the qualification, you must prove knowledge of a foreign language with a B2 or equivalent level unless your faculty establishes a higher requirement. If you already have a recognised certificate of knowledge of a third language, we recommend that you submit it together with the rest of the documents required for initial enrolment. Insurance
If you are under 28 years old, you are obliged to take out compulsory school insurance for €1.12 per year. If you are over 28 years old, you are obliged to take out compulsory accident insurance for €9.50 per year. Further information on the Insurance policies page.
Staying
Bear in mind that if you do not pass a minimum of 30 credits in the first two years, you will not be able to continue the same course at the UdG. Check the Rules for staying.

ID
Spanish nationals do not need to produce their national ID (DNI) unless they opposed the University of Girona's collection of personal data during their online enrolment (see the guide for online enrolment).

If you are a national of a EU member state, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or Andorra, you will need to present a valid ID or passport from your country of origin.

Otherwise you will preferably need to present a valid foreign-national identification care (TIE) or passport if do you not have a TIE.

You will need to forward a digitised copy of the document online or bring it in person to the academic secretary's office.

For online submissions you can use “Application to the administration” procedure in the online procedures section of the Network Secretary’s Office, preferably, or the UdG’s e-register.

You have until the 19 November 2021 to submit the document.
Admission documents
If you have been admitted to the UdG through university pre-enrolment, from PAU, CFGS, admission exams for individuals over the age of 25, 40 or 45 or university degree obtained from the UdG, or by academic record transfer, you will not need to produce any documents.

If you have been admitted to the UdG through university pre-enrolment, from a university degree completed at another university, you will need to forward a copy of your degree online (e-degree or authenticated digital copy of the degree) or provisional degree certificate (with digital signature and CSV), or produce the original in person at the academic secretary's office.

If you have been admitted to the UdG through university pre-enrolment, from a university degree started at another university, you have to produce a copy of an academic certificate online stating the courses and qualifications, signed electronically and with CSV, and supporting documents confirming transfer-rights payment or presenting the originals in person at the academic secretary's office.

For online submissions you can use “Application to the administration” procedure in the online procedures section of the Network Secretary’s Office, preferably, or the UdG’s e-register.

You have until the 19 November 2021 to submit the documents.
Allowances and exemptions
Before you register, review the self-enrolment’s "Grants and allowances" tab. If you are entitled to allowances that are recorded as accredited and are valid on the date of the start of the academic year (13 September), you will not need to produce any documents.

If you are entitled to allowances that are not recorded as accredited, you can start the accreditation procedure by clicking on the corresponding "Request" button, and uploading the necessary documents there for applying the corresponding enrolment discount or payment exemption.

You can also use the “Document Accreditation” procedure from the online procedure section of the Office of the Secretary in Network, preferably, or the electronic register of the UdG, or to produce the documents in person at the academic secretary's office.

If your documents are currently being processed or pending renewal, you will not be eligible for the enrolment-fee discount, but presentations of updated documents will be accepted up to 31 December for subsequently regularising your situation.

Bank details
If you are not the holder of the bank account from which the registration fee will be paid by direct debit, you must submit the completed bank details notification/ modification form and proof of identification for the account holder.

For the submission of documentation you can use the “Communicating or amending bank details” procedure in the online procedures section of the Network Secretary’s Office, preferably, or the UdG’s e-register.

These documents will have to be produced within a period of 10 work days as from the date of enrolment.
Photograph
After you have enrolled, you will need to produce a personal photograph through the La meva UdG intranet (Staff > digital Identity), in accordance with the instructions provided on the same webpage.
Enrolment form
If so required by the teaching institution, you will need to produce your duly completed enrolment-application form. The form and the instructions for its submission will be provided by the centre itself.
Note: accreditation by electronic means is not definitive, except in the case of original electronic documents or authentic electronic copies. The UdG reserves the right to request the corresponding physical documentation at a later date.
