Degree in psychology and philosophy. PhD in educational psychology (Interuniversity Doctorate Program in Educational Psychology). He completed the final year of the degree course and the last year of psychology studies at the University of Salamanca with a SICUE-SENECA scholarship. A scholarship from the Ministry of Education and Science conducted the doctoral thesis on the construction of identity in indigenous and mestizo from the Intercultural University of Chiapas (Mexico), an institution where he held two pre-doctoral academic stays. He has expanded studies at the Leeds Social Science Institute (England), with Dr. Anna Bagnoli, developing a multi-methodological approach to study the construction of identity from a narrative perspective. He has a postdoctoral stay at the Institute for Cultural Research & Education (California, USA), led by Dr. Carl Ratner, and has been a visiting professor at the College of Education of the University of Arizona (USA), working with the team of Dr. Luis Moll, and at the University of Colorado Boulder (USA) with Professor Dr. William Penuel. From a Vygotskian perspective, the interests of research and teaching are framed in the analysis and understanding of the relationships between culture, identity and education. In this sense, the main lines of research are: 1) the construction of identity in multicultural contexts, 2) continuities-discontinuities family-school in situations of high social and cultural diversity (knowledge sharing and identity funds) , 3) the analysis of significant experiences of learning. He is currently Director of the Institute of Educational Research (IRE) of the University of Girona, editor of the magazine Papeles de Trabajo on Culture Education and Human Development, responsible for the Uniersitat de Girona of the Interuniversity Postgraduate in Educational Psychology (MIPE and DIPE), a member of the International Society for Cultural and Activity Research and lecturer at the Department of Psychology at the University of Girona, where he teaches in the field of evolutionary psychology and education.
