Lecturer in the History of Modern ArtMember of the Catalonia at the European Crossroads of the Arts of the Renaissance Research Project I form part of the consolidated research group of the Generalitat of Catalonia (2005SGR00832) and the Research Group of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (HUM 2006 1204-C02-01). My research focuses on the art and architecture of the Modern Period in Catalonia, in particular on the artistic manifestations of the 17th and 18th centuries - my doctoral thesis is a study of the life and work of the Catalan painter Antoni Viladomat i Manalt (1678-1755). I am also interested in how Catalan art and artists of the period were linked to the main European avant-garde centres and how this relationship came about (travel, engraving, circulation of works, collecting, commissioning, etc.). A complementary but equally important research line is the study of the destruction and/or safeguarding of works of art and the vicissitudes suffered by artistic heritage in the modern period.
