Qualificació

- CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT

The final qualification to pass the subject is 5.

The subject will be continuously assessed through the final exam, the mid-term test and the suggested classroom activities (SCA):

1) FINAL EXAM:

It represents a 60% of the final qualification.

A MINIMUM SCORE of 4 is required to compute the weighted average score, which includes the final exam, the mid-term test and suggested classroom activities (SCA). This average will be the overall score of the subject.

If the student scores less than 4 on the final exam, he/she will not be able to count the continuous assessment (final exam, mid-term test and SCA) as part of their final mark. In this case, the student will have to do the Basic Competences Exam (BCE).

The final exam has 40 multiple choice questions about concepts and short solving problems. Each question will have five options, only one of which is correct. A penalty of 20% of its value will be deducted for each wrong question. There is no deduction for unanswered questions.

The final exam will last 1h 40 minutes.

Relevant information relating to sitting the final exam is described next:

1) You are permitted to use a non-programmable calculator in the exam.

2) You are not permitted to use programmable calculators, any electronic device and/or mobile technology with an Internet connection.

3)No formula sheet and/or lectures/notes are allowed in the exam.

2) MID-TERM TEST:

It represents a 15% of the final qualification.

Remember that the material covered in the mid-term test will be tested again in the final exam.

The mid-term test is an exam in the Moodle. It consists of two parts:

a) Multiple choice questions about concepts and short solving problems similar to those of the final exam. Each question will have five options, only one of which is correct. A penalty of 20% of its value will be deducted for each wrong question. There is no deduction for unanswered questions.

b) Solving problems: They are similar to those done in the in-class activities (at roughly the same level). There is no penalty for wrong question in this part of the exam.

The mid-term test will last 1h 40 minutes.

Relevant information relating to sitting the mid-term test is described next:

1) You are permitted to use a non-programmable calculator in the exam. You are not permitted to use programmable calculators.

3)No formula sheet and/or lectures/notes are allowed in the exam.

4) A blank sheet of paper is allowed to solve the exercises in the exam.

3) SUGGESTED CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES:

It represents a 25 % of the final qualification.

They are in-class activities in the Moodle (Moodle Quizz) and they have to be submitted at the end of the class.

There will be a total of 8 activities during the course that will be held during the regular hours of the class (in-class activities)

The activities consist of a list of questions and solving problems related to the lecture contents of the previous week.

For in-class activities, the 6 best scores of every student will be selected. These 6 activities will be averaged altogether to obtain the overall score of the SCA. The missed activities will count as a zero score. No excused absences will be admitted for any of the activities.

The overall score of the SCA will be the average of the submitted activities (mean of the 6 best scores).

It is mandatory to do a MINIMUM OF 75 % of the SCA to calculate the continuous assessment. If the percentage is less than 75 % the continuous assessment will not be computed and the student must go directly to the BCE (Final Exam is not be permitted in this case).

The overall score of the activities held during the course (which represents the 25% of the final qualification) will be uploaded before the final exam.

ACTIVITIES REVIEW:

Students can revise their activities scheduling an appointment by mail.

-BASIC COMPETENCES EXAM (BCE):

It has a similar format of the final exam and a MINIMUM score of 5 is required to pass it.

The scores of the continuous assessment will be cancelled. As it is a Basic Competences Exam, if the student passes it, his/her final score will be computed as 5.

Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
Students not attending to neither the continuous assessment nor the final assessment will be marked with a 'not seated' for the corresponding evaluation.

Avaluació única:
The evaluation system in EUSES - UdG is based, in general, in the continuous assessment. If the student wishes to take part in the unique pathway, he / she will need to request it in writing to the lecturer of the subject and the degree coordinator during the first two weeks of the Semester.

If the student opts for the unique pathway (non-continuous assessment):

- The student WILL NOT DO any of the activities of the continuous assessment scheduled during the course (neither SCA nor Mid-Term exam).

- The student will be assessed through a single exam, that is the Final Exam, which corresponds to the 100 % of the overall score of the subject.

- A MINIMUM SCORE of 5 is required to pass the subject. If the score is less than 5, the student fails the subject and he/she will have the opportunity of taking the Basic Competences Exam (BCE) to pass the subject. Details of the BCE are described below.

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT:

The continuous assessment consists of two assessment activities done during the course (40% of the overall score of the subject): SCA (25%) and Mid-Term Exam (15%). These activities will be carried out during the regular class (dates will be available on the schedule of the course). None of them require a minimum score.

Final Exam (60%): The exam will be held at the University and includes all the units of the course. The format and features of the exam have been described in the previous section. A MINIMUM SCORE OF 4.00 is required to average all the activities of the continuous assessment.

In addition, the following requirements must be fulfilled:

1) Suggested classroom activities (SCA) attendance will be more than or equal to 75 %.

2) Non-assessed activities (exercises and problem solving) submission will be more than or equal to 75 %.

A MINIMUM GRADE OF 5.0 in the Continuous Assessment is required to pass the subject.

NON-CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT (UNIQUE PATHWAY):

The student will be assessed through only one exam, that is the Final Exam (100% of the overall score).

A MINIMUM GRADE OF 5.0 in the Final Exam is required to pass the subject.

If the student fails the subject, he/she will have the opportunity to taking the Basic Competences Exam (BCE) to pass the subject. A MINIMUM GRADE of 5.0 in the BCE is required to pass the subject.

Tutoria

The tutorials will be carried out in person in enabled classrooms, and also virtually.

Comunicacio i interacció amb l'estudiantat

Communication and interaction with the students will be done in person and virtually throughout the forum of Moodle, video-conferencing means and email.

Observacions

The methodology of the subject is based on didactic units (DU).

Each DU will be related to some specific concepts, which will be first explained by the professor. After that, students will work with the concepts explained in the DUs through the suggested classroom activities.

Prior to every DU, the student will have to download the notes from the Moodle and read them carefully.

Learning outcomes:

- Knowing the principles and theories on which physical agents and their applications in Physiotherapy are based.
- Knowing the principles of biomechanics and electrophysiology and its main applications in the field of Physiotherapy.
- Understanding the distribution of vectors, moments and forces in levers found in the human body.
