The University of Girona has historic ties, based on institutional loyalty and social commitment, with the democratic institutions that have given it support over the years. At the same time, it maintains a close collaborative relationship with the main economic and business interests of the country. Because of this combination of interests, various foundations are working to improve the quality of university teaching, to conduct research that considers the needs of society, to better integrate students into the working world and to carry out in-depth studies of the educational work to be done at all levels and in a permanent way at the UdG.
Technology Transfer
This is the process by which the knowledge accumulated in universities and the research results arrived at are transferred to the business, commercial and institutional sectors.
The concept of "technology" must not be understood only in the strictest sense of the word. It is necessary to include such varied elements as facilities and equipment, products, software, designs and blueprints, research and production processes, management techniques, analytical methods and scientific and technical knowledge or skills.
Therefore, the differences between technology, knowledge and research results are indistinguishable.
