I got a 5-year degree in Economics at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM, 1995) and a MA in Economics at Tufts University, EEUU (1996) before starting my Ph.D at CORE, Université catholique de Lovain (Belgique). In december 2000 I was awarded the degree of Docteur en Sciences Economiques by this university. The title of my Doctoral Dissertation was Essays in Education and Social Stratification and my supervisors were M. Marchand and J-F- Thisse. Since then, my research has focused in the application of microeconomic theory to the analysis of questions related with education finance and policy. My work has been published in the Journal of Urban Economics, Oxford Economics Papers, Regional Science and Urban Economics, European Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Public Economy Theory, Journal of Economy Theory and Economics of Education Review. Since February 2013 I am Senior Expert of the European Expert Network on Economics of Education (EENEE) sponsored by the European Comission (DG EAC), and coordinated by IFO Institute.
