The Network of Support Centres for Technological Innovation (XIT, Xarxa de Centres de Suport a la Innovació Tecnològica), ), promoted by the Centre for Innovation and Business Development (CIDEM, Centre d’Innovació i Desenvolupament Empresarial) of the Government of Catalonia, is made up of research units and groups providing technology innovation services to businesses in Catalonia.

According to CIDEM, "The objective of this network is to increase the innovation capacity of businesses by strengthening the R&D subcontracting market in Catalonia. On the other hand, the fact that Catalonia has a network of technology centres that speak the same language as the businesses and are managed according to business service parameters will create competition for small and medium sized enterprises. It is not a question of creating a new technological infrastructure, but rather of building upon the enormous technological potential developed at universities during the last ten years."
