Sta. María la Antigua. Zumarraga, Guipúzcoa.
The University of Girona bet, for over a decade, for training in the field of cultural heritage. This area has scheduled several editions of the master himself: Museology and Heritage (1995-1997), degree of specialization in Cultural Heritage (1998-2000), master's specialization in Cultural Heritage (2000-2002) and the Cultural Heritage Management at local level (2005-2006).
In 2006-2007 the Master of Cultural Heritage Management at local level proposed by the University of Girona, was recognized by AQU (University Quality Agency) and the approval of the Ministry of Education and Science and became a character study oficial. This study, as part of training in cultural heritage, has the specificity to focus on the local level. So we want to achieve a good balance between the academic and professional quality to respond to the demands of the labor market, both in the public and private sectors on issues related to cultural heritage at the local level. This requires a thorough understanding of government and legislation, the latest technologies applied in the field of heritage and experience more successful, and an interdisciplinary approach based on the application of methods and systems from other fields of knowledge: management, management teams, cultural marketing, and new sources of funding. A training program specifically designed to provide professionals and individuals interested in the cultural heritage of conceptual and practical experience necessary to manage it, while giving the tools needed to initiate research in cultural heritage.
