Project:

The Escape Respirator Challenge is a public competition focused on finding solutions to protect end users against aerosolized chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) hazards and provides delivery of oxygen for safe egress from a smoke-filled, oxygendeficient, and CBRenvironments. Although commercial solutions exist, they are notsmall and lightweightenough to be carried ina coat pocket. The challenge asks individuals, teams, and organizations to design and develop specialized technology to meet this need.

Tender:

Budget: The three Finalists will receive an award of $50,000 each to build a functioning sensor according to their submitted proposals. The Winner will receive a $100,000 award.

       • Call opens: Desember13, 2018

       • Registration deadline: Before submitting an application, participants must complete registration no later than April 11, 2019, at 5 p.m. Eastern time.

       • Application Deadline: May 30, 2019

       • Administrative Review: May 31-June16,2019

       • EvaluactionPanel Review: June 17-July 15. 2019

       • Designation of Finalists: July 16-31, 2019

       • Prototyping: August 1, 2019-January 24, 2020

       • Demostration Event: January 27-January 31,2020

       • Selecction Committee: February 1- February 29, 2020
