Avaluació i qualificació

Students will be asked to write an essay chosen from the different topics within the content of this subject. The lecturer will provide the students with a guide and reading papers in order to improve their knowledge of the subject.
The evaluation of the essay will be based on writing style, research, references and use of the written text.

Students will have the opportunity of working for a day in a private centre for people with learning and communication difficulties. Attendance to this experience and collecting data for the presentation. 10 No
A group activity where students will work with their peers in a particular case. They will find strategies and resources to improve the learning and communication skills of their students/users. Students will work with the support of the lecturer in order to help a real user. Within the structure of the group students will present a case to their peers. 10 No
Attendance to the lectures. Most lectures will have a high practical component talking from real cases and using real objects/materials so the students will have a good knowledge of resources used currently in real settings. 20 No


Evaluation of this subject will be based on different aspects:
Attendance to the lectures
Participation in discussions
Individual and group activities
Work experience

LECTURES AND EVALUATION will be 100% in ENGLISH (Les classes i l'Avaluació serà 100% en anglès)
Students need a 5 (a pass) in all these areas in order to pass the evaluation.

Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
The student must contact the lecturer in case he/she is not attending the lectures and not following the course in order to get a NP.

Avaluació única:
In case a student chooses this form of evaluation, the student will have a written exam with 5 questions to develop related to the different areas of the course. The exam will be in English.

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
Per considerar superada l’assignatura, caldrà obtenir una qualificació mínima de 5.0

Face to face arranged meetings with the student. Also:
- Questions and guidance after each virtual lecture.
- Contact through email.
- Feedback on all tasks.
- Possibility of individual video conference support.

Modificació del disseny

Modificació de les activitats:
These are the adjustments of the course to a distance education situation :
- Most lectures will be delivered online and then uploaded in a youtube channel for those that can not connect live. Also for the rest of the students that would like to revisit the content of the lecture.
- Some lectures will be substituted for videos and scientific papers.
- Some activities will include the study and analysis of clinical cases.
- Lectures will be also complemented by TEDtalk videos and other resources.

Modificació de l'avaluació:
The evaluation criteria of this course will include some adjustments. This changes are more related to the way of submitting it rather than the actual work.
- Students have to write an essay with a scientific style. The topic of it has to be related to the main areas of study of the course. They will have to send it via "tramesa" at the end of May.
- Students will have to send via email some parts of it as part of the learning process. They will receive some feedback in order to improve the final result of the essay.
- Students will have to prepare a short presentation (5 slides max.) explaining the topic of their essay. Sent via "tramesa".
- Multiple choice questionnaires and some other "open ended" activities will be used in order to evaluate the following of the course.
