Summer courses

If you are student or member of the UdG and it is the FIRST time that you register at the SLM...

  • You will need to demonstrate your level of English to register on the corresponding course:
    • either with an official language certificate issued in the past two years (consult this document for the certificates you can submit)
    • or by providing evidence of the English mark you obtained in your university entrance examination (PAU) in 2017, 2018, or 2019 (see enrolment procedure 2)
    • or completing an SLM proficiency test (consult the calendar of proficiency tests)
  • Please send an email to matriculaidiomes@udg.edu with the following details:
    • name, surnames, ID No., telephone,
    • course code and name
    • Language proficiency certificate or result sheet of the SLM level test, or evidence of the English mark you obtained in your university entrance examination (PAU) in 2017, 2018, or 2019 (see enrolment procedure 2), scanned
  • and you will receive a confirmation email that you have been registered

If you are a new student starting at the university following the 2017, 2018, or 2019 university entrance examinations (PAU)

  • Depending on the English mark you obtained in the university entrance examinations you can avoid completing the proficiency test and register at the corresponding level in line with the following table of equivalences:

Equivalences of the English marks in the PAU, 2017, 2018, or 2019

  • If you have obtained a mark of less than 6, your level is either A1 or A2. You need to take a proficiency test
  • If you obtained a mark between 6-6,9, you are B1. You can register at B2.1 
  • If you obtained a mark between 7-7,9, you are B2.1. You can register at B2.2 
  • If you have obtained a mark of more than 8, you are B2 or higher. You can register at C1.1

In all cases, if you are not sure of your level, you can take a test before enrolling

If you are student or member of the UdG and have already registered at the SLM...

  • You will need to enrol online, accessing: ONLINE ENROLMENT
  • You will need to select the language course:
    • if you have completed a course or exam at the SLM, you will be able to register directly at the following level
    • if you did not pass the course or exam you previously registered for, you will need to register at the same level again or take the proficiency test to find out which course is right for you
  • You will need to fill in the online enrolment form with the required personal and payment details
  • and you will receive a confirmation email that you have been registered

If you are a former UdG student (UdG Alumnus/Alumna*), a member of staff of Girona City Council or the Catalan Government...

  • you must prove that you belong to this group by sending an official document to matriculaidiomes@udg.edu
  • you must prove your level of English to register on the corresponding course:
    • or a language proficiency certificate issued by the SLM of the UdG (You just have to tell us it)
    • or an official language proficiency certificate issued in the past two years (see this document for the certificates you can submit)
    • or by doing an English level test (see the level test calendar)
  • Please send an email to matriculaidiomes@udg.edu with the following details:
    • name, surnames, ID No., telephone,
    • course code and name
    • language proficiency certificate or document containing the result of the SLM proficiency test, scanned
    • a bank account number from which payment for your enrolment will be taken.
    • official document proving that you belong to one of the groups.
  • you will receive an email confirming that you have enrolled
  • and you will also receive a "noreply” email with the UdG user code you have been assigned so that you can log in to see the information about the course.

*Become an Alumni and send us the certificate proving that you have joined the association

If you are a student or member of the UdG...

  • You will need to fill in the online enrolment form with your personal details
  • You will receive an automated confirmation email that you have been pre-enrolled
  • the cost of the course will becharged through the bank when the activity begins

If you are an ex-student of the UdG (Alumni UdG*)...

  • you must prove that you belong to this group by sending an official document to matriculaidiomes@udg.edu
  • Please send an email to matriculaidiomes@udg.edu with the following details:
    • name, surnames, ID No., telephone,
    • name of the course you want to register for
    • a bank account number from which payment for your enrolment will be taken.
  • You will receive a confirmation email that you have been pre-enrolled
  • the cost of the course will becharged through the bank when the activity begins
  • and you will also receive a "noreply” email with the UdG user code you have been assigned so that you can log in to see the information about the course.

Proficiency test

Proficiency test

The English proficiency tests take place on specific days at specific times. You can choose the day and time that suits you best without having to reserve a slot in advance.

The test consists of a written part, lasting about 30 minutes, and an oral part, lasting about 15 minutes.

Days on which the level tests can be taken: 10 September to 4 October on alternate days and at the times specified below: 

  • Tuesday, 10 September from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Thursday, 12 September from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Monday, 16 September from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm
  • Tuesday, 17 September from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Wednesday, 18 September from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Thursday, 19 September from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm
  • Friday, 20 September from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Monday, 23 September from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm
  • Tuesday, 24 September from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Wednesday, 25 September from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Thursday, 26 September from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm
  • Friday, 27 September from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Monday, 30 September from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm
  • Tuesday, 1 October from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Wednesday, 2 October from 10 am to 1 pm
  • Thursday, 3 October from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm
  • Friday, 4 October from 10 am to 1 pm

Location: English office at the Modern Language Service, on the grounds floor of the Faculty of Law.

Enrolment on courses:

Once you have completed the proficiency test, you can enrol:

  • following enrolment procedure 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8, depending on the group you belong to
  • in person, at the Office of the Secretary of the SLM, from Monday to Friday of 9.30 am to 1.45 pm, with the document containing the result of the SLM proficiency test, and, if you are not a student, administrative and service staff or teaching and research staff at the UdG, a bank account number to pay the enrolment fee. Once you have been registered, you will receive an email confirming your enrolment.
