SIGTE

For more than 20 years, the SIGTE has nurtured a network of relationships, people linked to institutions, entities and associations, which allows the broadening of the learning, knowledge and experience framework of the service.

We highlight the following participation in the following initiatives as part the activities we undertake in the network:

Copernicus Academy

A network that connects European universities, research institutions, business schools and private organisations with the aim of promoting and being part of Copernicus, the European Earth observation programme. The SIGTE is a member of the network.

SPACE4GEO

SPACE4GEO is the leading network for bridging the skills gap between supply and demand in education and training at a European level in the sphere of the spatial economy.

SPACE4GEO is a European Erasmus+ project bringing together 26 members from 12 countries from academic, private and public realms in the education/training and space/geospatial sectors.

DCA-NewSpace is the community of the Digital Catalonia Alliance that integrates companies, research centres, administrations and other organisations that develop, integrate, implement or offer technological solutions based on the NewSpace.

UNIGIS International Association (UIA)

Member of the international network of cooperating universities since 1990 to design and carry out distance learning programmes in GIS. The SIGTE is a member of the Board.

Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo)

Non-profit organisation with the aim of supporting and promoting the development of open source and free geospatial software. The SIGTE has a Memorandum of Understanding signed with OSGeo and is recognised as OSGeo Lab.

Association with the objective of promoting academic activities and research in GIS.

Geographical Information Systems International Group (GISIG)

Group for the promotion of cooperation between different centres through the promotion and development of European projects linked to GIS. The SIGTE is a member of the Executive Committee.

Idrisi Resource Centre, Spain

Since 1996, the SIGTE has been an IDRISI resource centre for Spain in cooperation with the Geography Department of the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares.

Associació gvSIG

Since 2010, the University of Girona, through the SIGTE, has been a Member of Honour of the Associació gvSIG. The association aims for the sustainability of the gvSIG project and the development of Free Geomatics.

Catalan Association of Geospatial Information Technologies (ACTIG)

A non-profit association that aims to be a meeting point for users, manufacturers, service companies, students and public administrations.The SIGTE is a member of the Board.
