Exercising rights. How can rights be exercised or defended?

The RGPD “protect the rights and fundamental freedoms of individuals and, in particular, their right to personal data protection” (article 1.2). With this objective, the RGPD sets out and regulates the rights that data subjects can exercise directly in relation to whoever is processing their personal data. 

The University of Girona places great importance on the rights recognised by the data protection regulations. As far as it is able and depending on the type of law, the University will provide digital channels so that the data subject can access their data and exercise the rest of the rights recognised by the regulations. Above all, precise guidelines must be established to guarantee these rights adequate attention, so that data subjects’ needs are met in a fully satisfactory way, which is the objective of the present Instruction:
