TEAMS put forward a project that links teaching science, mathematical and humanities to develop common ground curricula of the Primary Education. It is about creating research in the fields of educational sciences and mathematics, specially through movement, visual and spatial representations.

The project is leaded by Jordi Colomer in collaboration with Teresa Serra from the Environmental Physics research group, and other members of the Department of Specific Didactics of the University of Girona and of the Moviment Lantana dance company.

The project has conducted research and produced knowledge which is socially distributed, application-oriented, trans-disciplinary, and subject to multiple accountabilities. The TEAching Mathematics and Science: TEAMS Learning Project uses the new, social media and a more varied and engaging pedagogy to develop dynamic learning environments that are more relevant to our changing times. It builds on the analysis of the today’s educational transitions that may generate a New Learning. A revolution is occurring in education. The authors are on the cusp of the invention of a New School. This revolution is being fuelled in part by the social media, globalization and local diversity. It is also a result of the presence of a new generation of learners (Generation L). These learners have different kinds of sensibilities to the students of our recent past, increasingly pedagogues of sciences and maths, physocologists, psychopedagogues and international choreographers.

The objective is to create a research corpus of defining strategies that serves a school teacher L, in all phases of the initial, medium and higher cycles (K6 to K12). The integral part of TEAMS is the combination of different fields of learning and the creation of a structure that defines what is called research experinterpretations outcomes of the dialogue between pedagogical science and choreography: the exploration of patterns in space and time (experiments) with a gaze directed at the aesthetic potential (interpretations). The ‘mixed’ background of scientists and choreographers involved in the team may ensure the set of defining objectives, the methodology as well as the production of up-to-date research.
