External placements

External placements are an important part of the training process for students on the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. The aim is to familiarise students with the real professional world in order to help them develop the specific competences required by the profession, put the knowledge they have acquired into practice, and at the same time recognise and improve their own personal skills.

In the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, students are obliged to undertake practicals over the four academic years. As these are studies in the field of healthcare, in accordance with the established guidelines, over the course of the degree programme there are 12 compulsory practicum subjects that are equivalent to 2,300 hours of work experience. These curricular internships are subjects included in the syllabus, and represent 78 of the 240 credits required for the degree.

You can consult the syllabus for the practicum subjects .

The UdG has its own Regulations on external academic placements for bachelor's and master's degrees .

If students wish to do more practicals, although undertaking other professional external placements is not initially envisaged, it is also possible to do extracurricular practicals.

The Faculty of Nursing has agreements with both public and private health institutions and centres for the organisation of external placements as part of the bachelor's degree.
