Avaluació i qualificació

Activitats d'avaluació:

Descripció de l'activitat Avaluació de l'activitat % Recuperable
Laboratory and computer room sessions (LAB). See "Criteris de qualificació". 10 No
Interactive solving of exercices and vocabulary tests (CAE). See "Criteris de qualificació". 15 No
Continuous assessment proof (PAC). See "Criteris de qualificació". 15 No
Final exam (FE). See "Criteris de qualificació". 60

Qualificació

The evaluation involves several activities:

1) Lab/computer sessions (LAB): The students will work in teams inside the lab groups. Reports and exercices must be submitted by the student teams using Moodle before a specific deadline. The grade is collective, but the professor can decide to give different marks if the performance of one member of the group is low. The teams will be formed in the first week of the course.

2) Continuous Assessment Exercises (CAE): The students will work individually. Reports and exercices must be submitted by the student using Moodle tasks (reports must be submitted in pdf format) before a specific deadline. Peer assessment will be mainly used, although the professor can assume grading of any task as required.

3) Approximately at midterm there will be a written proof (PAC) consisting of an exercise of an element similar to the ones that can appear in the final exam. The exercise will ask the student to do an analysis with the knowledge acquired up to date. This activity is individual.

4) In order to keep pace with the course, the student is expected to attend all lectures and exercise sessions in the weekly schedule, both on-site and virtual. Daily (or sampling) controls will be done.

5) There will be one final exam (FE).

The final grade (FG) consists of the maximum of the following:

If FE >= 4.0, then FG = MAX(FG1,FG2,FG3,FG4)

If FE < 4.0, then FG = MIN(MAX(FG1,FG2,FG3,FG4), 4.0)

where

FG1 = 0.6 * FE + 0.15 * PAC + 0.1 * LAB + 0.15 * CAE
FG2 = 0.75 * FE + 0.1 * LAB + 0.15 * CAE
FG3 = 0.85 * FE + 0.15 * PAC + 0.15 * CAE
FG4 = FE

Only the final exam (FE) has a resit. Only students who have failed the final exam will be allowed to resit the exam and get a new FE grade.

If a student has an attendance below 60 % of the classroom sessions (on-site or on-line), does not attend the PAC, does not attend any of the lab sessions or does not deliver any of the corresponding reports or more than 80 % of the CAE activities, he/she will get a grade FG = FE.

Cheating in any of the evaluation activities is strongly advised against. If detected, it will imply a fail grade plus the corresponding academic penalties.

Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
The student will get a "No Presentat (NP)" grade if he/she doesn't sit at the final exam and does not participate in any of the continuous assessment activities (LAB and/or CAE) or abandons them before the seventh week of the course.

Avaluació única:
If the student applies to be graded in a single activity, he/she will have to come in the date scheduled for the final exam and take an exam that will basicaly be the same of the other students, although it can also include some questions covering the contents of the LAB and CAE activities.

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
To pass the course you need a minimum grade of FG = 5.0.

Tutoria

There will be specified weekly time frames for on-line tutorships on-demand (via GoogleMeet or any other platform approved by UdG). Electronic mail can be also used to solve questions or doubts and set tutorship appointments out of the specified time frames.

Comunicacio i interacció amb l'estudiantat

Communication with students will be via e-mail and the News forum of the course’s Moodle. Individual on-line meetings will be possible for a personalised monitoring.

Observacions

Lab/Computer room sessions:
Some of the sessions will be done with the ANSYS software in a computer room of the School, while the others will take place in the Lab of Machine Design. The contents of the sessions will be announced at the beginning of the course.

All deliverables worked out by the sutdents individually or in teams must be correctly written and drawn.

All the deliverables will have a deadline after which they will not be accepted. Report submissions be done using Moodle and strictly in a single document in pdf format each.

Assignatures recomanades

  • Elasticitat i resistència de materials
  • Expressió gràfica
  • Fonaments de ciència de materials
  • Fonaments de mecànica
  • Teoria de màquines

Modificació del disseny

Modificació de les activitats:
If the evolution of the pandemic results in a more restricted scenario, if possible, computer on-line activities will substitute the on-site Lab sessions. Also, the exercise on-site sessions will move to on-line sessions or tutorials. Also, the PAC and the FE can be made on-line if required by the University authorities.

Modificació de l'avaluació:
The grading of the course won't be modified in case of a more restricted scenario, provided that all activities could be done or adapted to be done on-line.

Tutoria i comunicació:
If the evolution of the pandemic results in a more restricted scenario, the course will become totally on-line but with the same terms and conditions.
