Work Placements

Specific information on features of the work placements, available options and the allocation of places can be found on the Polytechnic’s work placements (WP) online platform .

Information

The procedure to allocate work placements is as follows:

  • The company (or hosting entity) makes an offer of placements.
  • Students then register as candidates.
  • The company (or hosting entity) selects the candidates.
  • Places are closed and the placements begin.

The main features of this placement model are as follows:

  • The legal framework is an educational cooperation agreement (regulated by Royal Decree 592/2014, of 11 July).
  • There is no type of employment link with the student.
  • The student remains covered by the school insurance.
  • The company can define the work plan and the profile of each position in agreement with the university.
  • It allows a company to get to know potential employees thoroughly and under real working conditions.

The main advantages of this placement model are:

  • Improved academic follow-up and monitoring by the Polytechnic.
  • Supervision by a tutor who will have a minimum of 3 interactions with the company: introducing the student, follow-up and completion.
  • Recognition and advantages (access to UdG services and resources) for the student’s tutor in the company.
  • Monitoring the attainment of objectives: the tutor receives a report from the company, the student writes a placement report and questionnaires are filled in, among other actions.
  • An appealing way for students to gain credits.
  • Integration into the academic calendar.

It is important that students take into account the criteria for external curricular placement enrolment in EPS Bachelor's Degrees .
