Teaching is concentrated in the faculties and schools, and the departments deal with research, which is also conducted by institutes and chairs, at the same time responsible for knowledge promotion.
The Special Awards for Doctoral Degrees at the University of Girona are convened every term and can be awarded to any thesis read during the previous natural year that has obtained "cum laude".
Before each call, the School of Doctoral Studies will contact the doctors who may be eligible for these Special Awards for Doctoral Studies so that they can submit the application and required documentation.
The assessment criteria used by the panel when awarding the Special Awards for Doctoral Studies is as follows:
