FemSTEM

FemSTEM is a news source / blog intended for women and girls of all ages and created with the aim of spreading scientific knowledge. It is a space for anyone that wants to enjoy science. They write articles about science for the news, answer frequently asked scientific questions and interview top scientists.

FemEngin

Femengin is a group of women from the world of engineering made up of teachers and students from different fields who work to increase gender diversity in the UdG's classrooms. Its task consists in networking to connect women from the world of engineering. The objective is to be able to share experiences and coordinate to increase the number of women in the field of the Engineering.

Women of category: analysis of gender bias in Wikipedia categories

"Women of category: analysis of gender bias in Wikipedia categories" is a work from the Equality of Gender programme by the Vives Network of Universities (XVU) at the Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media of the University of Barcelona. The report offers technical analysis providing an academic stance on the issue through a proposed improvement to the visualisation of different gender identities and access to their content on Wikipedia.

Joint University Institute for Women and Gender Studies

The IIEDG originated from the joint activity of different research groups form seven Catalan universities, among them the UdG. Its objective is to bring together the research groups in women and gender in Catalonia and to achieve recognition in the university sphere. Even though the IIEDG was officially recognised in 2008, it is in fact an initiative that was launched in 1999. It teaches the Joint Master in Women, Gender and Citizenship Studies

Centre for Women Experts at the Catalan Institute for Women, Government of Catalonia

The Experts Searcher is an initiative from the Catalan Institute for Women to raise the profile of women talent and the contributions of women to every professional and knowledge area and, especially, in the areas where women have been traditionally under-represented.

Documentation Centre at the Centre for Information and Resources for Women (CIRD), Barcelona City Council

The CIRD is a document archive specialising in women’s studies and focused on spheres of action for the City Council (gender violence against partners and domestic violence, preventing violence, sex work, health, political participation etc.). This material is certainly of interest to both students of bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree studies and professionals. Strategic plan of gender equality policies 2019-2022 of the Government of Catalonia

Document outlining the actions to promote effective equality between women and men in this period, which includes six lines of action, twenty-one strategic objectives, one hundred and three operating objectives and three hundred and twenty-six events for the coming years to implement the transferable policies on the gender perspective in all the local authorities of the Government of Catalonia. It also outlines actions of a more sectorial and operational nature. One of the strategic lines of this plan is the Integral Program against male violence 2019-2022.

Gender Equality Programme - Vives Network of Universities

The Vives Network launched the institute's new corporative portal last June. GUIDES

The author of this Guide, Cristina Baulies i Batiller, is a journalist, a specialist in gender and communication, and responsible for the Area of Communication at the Catalan Institute for Women. This Guide is the result of an applied project from the Postgraduate Diploma in Gender Equality Policies in Public Management, organised by the Catalan Institute for Women, the Catalan Public Administration School, the University of Barcelona and the Inter-University of Women’s and Gender Studies. It was conducted out under the supervision of the expert Anna Villarroya Planas, a lecturer at the Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media at the University of Barcelona.

This UdG Guide for an egalitarian use of language is designed to serve as an advisory tool for all members of the university community to ensure that the texts and linguistic uses we produce are respectful, inclusive and free of stereotypes and discriminatory expressions.

Law 11/2014, of 10 October, to guarantee the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersexual people and to eradicate homophobia, biphobia and transphobia; to establish a clear mandate for universities so that they include cross-cutting protection, support and research measures to raise the profile of LGBTI people and awareness raising and non-discrimination measures. Article 13 focuses specifically on the universities, but these are also referred to throughout the text on several occasions when other areas of intervention are mentioned (see point 3 for a collection of the articles of the Law relevant to universities).

This Guide is designed to provide all the stakeholders of the university administration with tools to implement actions to comply with the provisions of the Law.

The Strategic plan of gender equality policies 2019-2022, to implement actions to comply with the provisions of Law 17/2015, of 21 July, on effective equality between women and men, is the instrument that determines the objectives and transferable measures that must be applied to guarantee gender equality in the area of the Administration of the Government of Catalonia.

This report is on the second line of work under 2018-2019 biennial plan: the gender bias relating to the various groups in the Xarxes Vives university communities (students, admin and service staff, and teaching and research staff) based on an analysis of aspects of professional and academic career. The study has been coordinated and carried out by the doctors Inma Pastor Gosálbez (Universitat Rovira i Virgili) and Anna Pérez-Quintana (University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia) and in collaboration with the doctoral degree student Anna Sánchez Aragón.
