Presentation

Chair of Health Promotion

In 2008 the University of Girona and DIPSALUT, the public health body operated by Girona Provincial Council, agreed on the creation of the Chair of Health Promotion, the first of its kind in Catalonia and the Spanish state.

The University of Girona was thus a pioneer at a national level in creating a Chair in the area of the health promotion. Since then the Chair has stood out for its dynamic nature and its will to remain a benchmark for quality in this sphere of knowledge.

The Chair of Health Promotion fosters knowledge transfer and research in health promotion. The Chair's catalogue of services includes educational activities, research, diffusion and transfer of knowledge, publications and internationalisation.

The Chair constitutes a fundamental asset in its field thanks to its pioneering position and leadership. Its mission is one of facilitating and managing the creation, transfer and dissemination of knowledge and becoming a stage for technical and professional education through teaching, research and the promotion of know-how.
