The collection is divided up into six areas:

  • Foundations of health promotion
  • Community and organisation of services
  • Planning, education and training
  • Communication
  • Applied areas

The latter, being very extensive, is subdivided into:

  • Food and drink
  • Environment
  • Drug addictions
  • Risk groups
  • Prevention
  • Care of illnesses
  • Children and teenagers
  • Reproductive and pregnancy health
  • Affective – sexual education
  • Mental health
  • Physical activity and sport

The existence of this documentary collection on health promotion and education is the result of years of work compiling publications and other materials.

The publications come from departments of health, education and the social area, mainly from autonomous regions; from different ministries such as health, education and science, the environment, work and social affairs; the institute of women, mutual support associations and other non-governmental bodies. There are also health promotion and health training centre documents from the Spanish state and abroad.
