Julie Waddington is Lecturer (Serra Húnter Programme) in the Department of Specific Didactics (Faculty of Education & Psychology), coordinating the ELT area and teaching on the Early Childhood Education and Primary Education degree and the Master in Attention to Diversity in Inclusive Education. She previously taught at Edge Hill University & Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, where she completed her PhD in Literature and Critical Theory.

She coordinates a core area (Linguistic, identity and cultural diversity) of the Cultura i Educació research group: https://culturaieducacio.cat/objectius-preguntes-i-linies-dinvestigacio/

...and takes an active role as member/promoter of the Funds of knowledge International Alliance https://fundsofknowledge.org/

- foreign language learning in the early years

- children’s literature in language learning

- learner identity / foreign language learner self-concept
