A German plastics research institute seeks a partner to supply a coating with high optical transmission and a refractive index of 1,3 or lower for an illumination unit for automotive interiors.
A German research institute is specialised in plastics technology for many applications.
Within the scope of a project on automotive interiors, the institute plans to develop an illumination unit, e.g. for instrumental panels. For this task the institute seeks a coating with specific characteristics. This coating needs to have a high optical transmission with a refractive index about 1,3 or lower.
The substrates in use are polycarbonate (PC) or poly-methyl-methacrylate (PMMA). The coating should be applied prefarbly by screen-printing. However spray coating or doctor blading would also be an option.
Partners are sought who can supply the coating. A manufacturing agreement can be concluded where the partner produces the coating according to the specifications of the German institute. There would also be an opportunity for a future research cooperation if the partner is interested in the joint development of new automotive interior products.
