Qualificació

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT:

1. If a student has a mean grade of 5 or over 5 but has a mark lower than 4.5 in the 2nd oral exam (the one held in late May), they will have to re-sit only the ORAL EXAM in late June.

2. If the mean grade is lower than 5, there are two possible scenarios:

- If in the Grammar Block a student obtained low marks and/or zeros that don’t add up to 5, and their mark for Oral exam I is lower than 5, they will take the re-sit written exam and re-sit oral exam.

-If in the Grammar Block a student obtained low marks and/or zeros that don’t add up to 5, but at the same time the student has passed the 2nd oral exam with a 5 or more, they'll need to re-sit the written exam.

3. if the mean grade is 4.8 or 4.9, the teacher will look at the mark from attendance and participation and will decide whether the student will have to re-sit exams in accordance with the students’ engagement in the course. If the mean grade is lower than 4.8, students will have to go to re-sits.

4. At re-sits (both written and oral), students will have to take a comprehensive exam of all the year. The marks accumulated throughout the course will count for nothing at re-sits. The maximum grade that can be obtained at re-sits is a 6.

FINAL ASSESSMENT:

Written exam first semester - 20%
Orak exam first semester - 15%
Written exam 2nd semester - 25%

Avaluació única:
Single assessment will only be allowed in some specific cases and always within the deadline specified in the school calendar.

Single assessment does not mean one single exam at the end of the year. Students following this type of evaluation will have to do a number of assessed activities throughout the year.

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
In both assessment types (formative and final):

- the student's mean weighted average must be 5.0.
- the student must score at least 4.5 on Oral Exam II.

Tutoria

Students are encouraged to book office hours to solve specific doubts they may have about both linguistic and non-linguistic aspect of the subject.

Office hours are booked in advance through the school's office hour booking system.

Comunicacio i interacció amb l'estudiantat

The communication between teacher and the students will take place face-to-face, over campus and by email.

Observacions

English lessons require regular attendance and a willingness to actively participate in the course.

Modificació del disseny

Modificació de les activitats:
Activities will be the same if lessons have to be held on line because of another hypothetical lockdown situation. In that case, the amount of hours counted in the face-to-face modality will be reverted to hours with virtual teacher.

Modificació de l'avaluació:
Evaluation tasks will be maintained. The only thing that will differ is that exams will be held online through Google forms. If that happens, exams will be administered by means of different google forms, and timings will be tightened to avoid possible cheating.

Tutoria i comunicació:
Tutorials will be held online in the advent of another lockdown situation. The booking system will work as usual.
