Industrial Engineer (1999) and PhD with thesis “Analysis and Simulation of Transverse Random Fracture of Long Fibre Reinforced Composites”. (2006 – 2008) researcher in the Wind Energy Department of the National Renewable Energy Centre, where I developed a methodology for the analysis of adhesive joints and participated in the EU project UpWind. Nowadays I am a full time associate professor in the Engineering Mechanics Department of the University of Girona. I am a member of the AMADE research group and my main research topic is the optimization of composite structures and the applications of fracture mechanics to composite materials. I am the author/co-author of more than twenty papers in indexed journals related to composite materials. Recently I started doing research on modal analysis of music instruments. I am a regular reviewer for Composite Structures, among others. I have led several research projects such as Lightcowls (Cleansky), ant taken part of many industrial projects with the wind energy and aircraft industry. I teach regularly master courses on Fracture Mechanics, Design Optimization and Transportation Engineering and undergraduate courses on Machine Elements and Simulation of Mechanical Systems.
