Presentació

The European Documentation Centre (EDC) of Girona University opened its services to the public in September 1995. This centre is part of a network of information centres designated by the European  Commission. The Commission has the authority to designate an EDC at any university that offers courses on European integration. Following the agreement signed on 23 May 1995 the EDC receives, free of charge, all official publications from the institutions and offical bodies of the European Union.
The EDC processes and distributes the information produced by the  Office for Official Publications of the  European Communites, including the publications of EUROSTAT. The university, for its part, is obliged to provide the centre with the infrastructure and personnel required for the centre to function.
The main objectives of the EDC are:
  • To provide support in the teaching and research of all material concerning the European Union.
  • To facilitate access to basic legislation and other information on European integration for the community of Girona.
The EDC is a public service. Anybody from the University community or from outside can consult the documentary resources.
