The Technical Services of the UdG are the general scientific-technical services of the University. They were created in 1993 to group together large instruments, characterized by their complexity, specific uses, interdisciplinary nature and high cost, that could be useful to different research groups. To make full use of them and increase their performance and profitability, they had to be shared. In addition, they needed to be managed by specialized technical personnel who cold guarantee, at any given moment, their optimal operation, through regular maintenance and calibrations, so that users, both from within and outside the university, could make continuous use of such complex tools without having to worry about their maintenance and calibration.

Their ultimate goal is to provide technical and instrumental support to university teaching and research, as well as to any of the public or private sector companies that make up the industrial fabric of the area and that request it.
