He
completed a Degree in Economic Sciences at the University of the Basque
Country, Bilbao, in 1975, a Degree in Geography at the Autonomous
University of Barcelona (UAB) in 1986 and a Doctorate in Human
Geography at the UAB in 1992. He has been a Lecturer in Human Geography
at the UdG since 1992, specialising in Economic Geography and the
Regional Analysis of Latin America. He is an expert on the themes of
industry, technological change and innovation, and is a member of the
Technological Innovation Research and Teaching Network (RIDIT). He has
been a visiting lecturer and project coordinator at several
universities in Europe (Utrecht, Pavia, Uppsala) and in Latin America:
BUAP, UNAM, UASLP, UAEM, COLEF (Mexico) and others in Paraguay, Brazil,
Guatemala, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru.
