Javier Burgos Rincón (Barcelona, 1962) holds a doctorate from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, awarded for his thesis Printing and culture of the book in Barcelona in the 18th century (1993). His field of work is socio-cultural history in the urban environment, particularly the world of craftsmanship, as well as the production and dissemination of written and book culture in the 17th and 18th century. He is the author of several research and educational works. He has collaborated with and taken part in various research projects. He was the founding member of Manuscrits. Revista d'Història Moderna and of the now-defunct Pierre Vilar Centre for Modern History Studies. He is currently a member of the Cultural Studies Research Group of the UdG (www.udg.edu/estudisculturals).
