She
holds a Degree in Geography (UdG, 1999) and a Doctorate in Geography,
specialising in Territorial Planning and Environmental Management (UdG,
2005). A specialist in Geographic Information Systems, she has been a
lecturer at the University of Girona since 2001.
Her research is
focused on the study of the transformation of the landscape, on the
quantitative and qualitative analysis of changes, especially in the
coastal environment, and on the design of strategies for the integrated
management of this system. Her doctoral thesis is entitled
The coastal landscape transformation of the Costa Brava: Analysis of
its evolution (1956-2003), diagnosis of its current state and prognosis
for the future.
She has taken part in or is carrying out research in important projects, including the following:
Functional analysis of the ecological network and the elements of
conservation of the landscape as an objective for integrated
management: the principal ecological structure (Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, 2006-2009); Protection and tourist enhancement of the archaeological settlements of the region of Piracicaba (Sao Paulo)” (Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, 2007-2009); Landscape Catalogues of the Camp de Tarragona region and of the Counties of Girona (Catalan Landscape Observatory and DPTOP – Catalan Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Works, 2005-2008); Methodology for assessing beach resources as a support for the integrated management of coastal tourist areas (Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, 2003-2006), and Cartography of the transformation of the coastal landscape of Catalonia in the 1800-2000 period (Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology, 2002-2005).
