- Welcome Sessions for new instructional staff. A tour of the facilities and basic information session: Item acquisition, inter-library loans, borrowing policies, distance and remote-access services, etc. Fill out a request form for your visit.
- Tools, Tips and Tricks for Research. Intended to facilitate the effective use of databases, on-line journals and other research resources available through the Library for your area of research (reference managers, citation tools, etc.) These sessions can be tailored to individuals or groups. Introduction to the Library: Introductory sessions about library services and informational resources geared for new undergraduates. These sessions are offered in conjunction with breadth, obligatory and practical application courses within different study programs at the University of Girona, as determined previously by the professor of each course:

- PSYCOLOGY during the practical application hours, 1st semester (September)
- ESTUDIS DE MESTRE: sessió adreçada als estudiants de primer curs 1r semestre (setembre)
- COLLEGE OFF LETTERS as a part of the course Techniques for Oral and Written Expression 1st semester (October)
- ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS as a part of the practical application portion of the following courses, Introduction to Public Relations and Introduction to Advertising 1st semester (October)
- TOURISM as a part of the course The Structure of Markets 1st semester (September)
- 50 ND ABOVE geared for students 50 years and older, outside the practical application hours, at the Barri Vell Campus Library. Fill out a request form 1st semester (October)
Research: Informational Resources: The Barri Vell Library will participate in a variety of courses for different programs of study (both 1st and 2nd Cycle) on its campus regarding specific resources as apply to the following topics:
- Library Tours. Introductory session covering the basic services and resources available to patrons, so that you may use these independently and effectively. Geared for newly-registered students. Fill out the Tour Request form.
- Specific Sessions for Research Projects. If you have to conduct a research project or write your final thesis paper, the library offers support throughout the entire process (how to perform research, how to cite your sources appropriately, etc.) Fill out a request form for an appointment. (You will be assigned a specialized librarian according to your topic.)
- Sessions about Informational Resources and Other Services Useful to Performing Your Responsibilities. Viewing on-line editions of newspapers and other periodicals, acquisition processes, reviewing catalogue listings, citing bibliography, etc. Fill out a request form.
- UdG Formation Plan. Every other year, the Library offers a 20-hr course as a part of the University Formation Plan. For more information, go the InfoPAS tab at MyUdG.
