Official Postgraduate Programme in Tourism, Law and Business

The Official Postgraduate Programme in Tourism, Law and Business is organised into three large blocks, one of which corresponds to Tourism, another to Law, and a third to Economics and Business. These three areas are very important, both in Catalonia and internationally, responding to social needs and to public administration and industrial sector demands, and providing official training in an area previously covered by similar but non regulated studies.

Related to the first block, the current dynamics of tourism activities and a parallel need for higher qualifications to increase competitiveness at a time when the maturity of the Catalan model of tourism and the importance of renewing it is being widely discussed, have created a need for highly trained professionals in this field.

As for the second block, government economic intervention and new models of interaction between the public and the private sectors present a series of problems which require specific training in law and lead to reflection on the skilful and competent development of the roles of economic agents and public managers.

And third, as everyone knows, the key role of business and management innovation in making technology competitive has become very prevalent in recent years. This requires specialised training to promote innovation in companies and, at the same time, increase the number of researchers who dedicate themselves to it.

For these reasons, the structure and the contents of this official postgraduate programme achieve the main objective—to offer a coherent and high quality programme in tourism, law and business that attracts a wide range of students, with two masters taught entirely in English, and which can provide at the same time professional and/or scientific training.
