Educational objectives

  • To offer multidisciplinary training that provides new tools to meet the challenges facing our health care system, and to systematically incorporate health promotion initiatives.
  • To provide specialised training for health professionals which allows them, on the one hand, to promote health in various areas and services and thereby improve the care provided to users, and on the other, to update and strengthen their own skills, especially those related to health service management, using in suitable ways the knowledge and the techniques necessary to improve the quality of the care provided and optimise both work systems and the human and material resources available.
  • Prepare participants to design, implement, analyse, interpret and disseminate programmes and basic, clinical, epidemiological research and health care results.

Curriculum structure

  1. The masters combines professionalised management in health or in nursing care services. The options available allow students to pursue training in either aspect, depending on their specific interests.
  2. The masters is organised in modules. Taking courses primarily from the health services management and nursing care management modules can lead to the awarding of a special mention. Students in the masters can follow various tracks but they all must take module 1, which is common to all UdG masters, module 2, Health Promotion, and module 7 or 8, depending on whether they opt for training which is professional- or research-directed. Up to 50 of the remaining credits can be chosen from the other available subjects.
  3. Students who take module 5 in its entirety can obtain special mention of “Nursing Care Management” on their degree certificates.
  4. Students who take module 4 and ten credits from module 5 can obtain a special mention of “Health Services Management”.
