Educational objectives
To train researchers and professionals capable of solving problems associated with the use and management of water. To acquire the in-depth scientific, methodological and technical knowledge needed to study, diagnose and manage water and water systems.

Curriculum structure
- Instrumental module (15 ECTS credits): university and postgraduate programme cross-disciplinary subjects
- Process diagnosis and control (19 ECTS)
- Advanced training (20.5 ECTS)
- Environmental administration, management and social context (11,5 ECTS credits): Water, territory and society; Tools and instruments for the management of water resources, and hydroeconomics
- Research project and internships (24 ECTS credits)

Admission profile, previous education requirements and admission and selection criteria
An assessment will be made of the academic records of those students holding degrees in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Physics, Pharmacy, Geology, Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Forest Engineering and, with complementary studies, Law, Economics, Geography, branches of engineering not mentioned above and other similar fields that need specialised training in water management.
Priority will be given to applicants with better academic records.
In the event of applicants holding other types of degrees, admission will be based on the suitability of their curricula vitae and previous assessment of their academic records, in accordance with the specific criteria established by the coordinating committee of the masters.

Pre-registration and registration
Pre-registration must be completed online.
First pre-registration period: will begin on 2 April and will run until 1 July 2007
Admission decisions: on 18 July 2007
First registration period: from 20 until 30 July 2007
If places are still available, a new pre-registration period will be open from 20 July until 19 September 2007.

Admission to the Doctoral programme
Students can apply for admission to the doctoral course of any Official Postgraduate Programme (POP, Programes Oficials de Postgrau) at the University of Girona provided they have completed a minimum of 60 ECTS credits in a POP programme or have an official master’s degree and have completed a minimum of 300 ECTS credits in their undergraduate and postgraduate studies at a university or other centre of higher education. The applications will be reviewed by the Doctoral Council of each programme.
