Educational objectives

The masters aims to train professionals and scientists to study the ecology of populations, communities and systems and to diagnose and manage natural ecosystems, exploring the necessary scientific, methodological and technical knowledge in depth. The masters will not only provide students with that knowledge but will also encourage them to develop projects resulting from proposals established in collaboration with public and private institutions.

Admission profile, previous education requirements and admission and selection criteria

The masters is aimed at students with degrees who want to specialise in their professions as researchers who want to reach correct diagnoses of how natural ecosystems function and of the many problems they face.

Admission requirements:
Be a degree holder or have completed the first 180 credits (which must include the training contents common to all programmes) in one of the fields of the Experimental Sciences, the Health Sciences or the Humanities.

This masters programme is intended for people who have completed degrees (including engineering degrees) or an equivalent number of credits. Specifically, it is aimed at students in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Forest Engineering and other related fields who need specialised training in ecology and ecosystem management which goes beyond what they received during their degree studies.

Selection criteria:
Candidates will be considered for admission to the masters based on:

  • their degrees and their academic records, to ensure that the studies they have completed are in a field related to the masters
  • their knowledge of languages
