UdG Day

This major celebration arrives at the UdG in time for spring, between the exams of February and those of the end of the year. It’s a pause in the semester that relives what was (and still is) experienced in rural societies, where the festivals of patron saints were celebrated between the regular harvest and the wine harvest. It’s a sweet moment to appreciate the fruits obtained at the university and those that are still to come. Cheers! It’s UdG Day.

UdG Day begins with an opening speech and continues with a little bit of everything. There are human tower exhibitions, contests, association dinners, an entity and association fair, and more. The fair stalls are not lacking and neither is, for now, one of the most popular contests: the election of the Iron Agronomist. Many of the activities incorporate Greening Plan guidelines to show it’s possible to have fun and respect the environment at the same time. UdG Day is almost as old as the university itself. It’s a festival in which uproar and revelry rule, in which the existence of a shared cause and a common identity is demonstrated.

UdG Day is an initiative of the Student Council. Most of the activities are celebrated on the Avinguda Maria Aurèlia Capmany, where traffic is restricted for a couple of days.
