Public institutions in Girona, among them the UdG, so as to align themselves more closely with the production and service sectors, began to collaborate in the creation of business incubators to promote entrepreneurship among young people, and primarily among recent UdG graduates.
 
The Consorci dels Vivers d’Empreses Territorials (Regional Consortia of Business Incubators) resulted from collaborative efforts between different public and private institutions, among them the UdG. 

The creation of the Consortia represents the first step of a regional project designed to promote the creation of new technology- and service-based businesses throughout the Girona region, strengthening the development of new business projects.
